According to data provided by on-chain security firm Cyvers Alerts, Curio Invest recently fell victim to a $16 million cyber attack. The attack was carried out on Maker DAO-based smart contracts.
Exploiting the same security vulnerability, the attackers managed to mint 1 billion GTC. Currently, the wallets belonging to the attackers hold $39.7 million worth of cryptocurrency.
The team’s detailed statement mentioned that all user funds are secure:
We have been informed of the exploitation of smart contracts in our ecosystem just now. Unfortunately, the MakerDAO based smart contracts used within our ecosystem have been exploited. We are actively addressing the situation and will keep you updated. Rest assured, all Polkadot and Curio Chain contracts are secure.
